The floor rumbles. The seats vibrate. The walls shake. Recycled Percussion is all about having fun by bringing the noise. It’s childhood abandon and exhilaration as we bang pots and pans to stay in tune with the band.
They are the drum-and-guitar masters who specialize in rock music and choreographed routines using junkyard and household throw-outs. I’m expecting jackhammers and leaf-blowers next to go with the construction ladders and flying van.
Is there anything they can’t play and sound? The premiere of Recycled Percussion’s two-year residency at The Quad (formerly Imperial Palace) was an over-the-top, high-energy exuberance that had the audience movin’ and groovin’.
It’s one of the most unique and interactive shows on the Strip, especially when the band races into the house to give everybody freshly baked cookies. Don’t ask why; they were as tasty as the onstage frenzy.
Celebrities who joined in the raucous revelry included Carrot Top, Claire Sinclair and her cast from “Pin Up,” Marc Savard, Ricardo Laguna, Zowie Bowie’s Chris Phillips, iCandy starlets Daisy de la Hoya and Maren Wade, Frank Marino and his cast of “Divas Las Vegas,” John Payne, Paul Shortino, Tracii Guns, Tara Palsha, Mark Shunock, “Evil Dead: The Musical,” Anthony Cools, Mo5aic, Chippendales and Jeff Civillico.
From the opening seconds where the crazy foursome are playing while hanging upside down on a rotating glass wall to the final minutes of the loud ladders, it’s 90-plus minutes of pure adrenaline.

Prolific producer David Saxe promised that the new Recycled Percussion show would be the most impressive yet, and he kept his word. The extreme show includes past junk rock favorites and surprising additions, plus, a high-production set complete with light walls and lasers.
Since their amazing appearances on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” Recycled Percussion has rocked the Strip for more than three years with stops at MGM Grand, Tropicana and Palazzo. It’s an unprecedented mix of percussion, humor and athleticism playing on buckets, ladders, grinders and sinks.
We’re all blown away by their endless electrifying energy and creativity as we drum away on pots, pans, lids and pipes. It’s junkyard rock fun at its best, and the only thing I’m still trying to figure out is if the four boys or the audience is having the most fun.
