New wedding chapel at Aria brings modern edge to L.V. weddings

From Elvis-impersonating ministers to drive-thu chapels, there’s no place in the world that does weddings quite like Las Vegas. But for those looking to tie the knot without the kitsch, a new chapel is joining the more contemporary options cropping up on the Strip. Aria is opening The Wedding Chapel, a venue seeking to bring a sophisticated, luxurious twist to the classic Las Vegas pastime.
The space, slated to open April 23, marks the first dedicated wedding chapel to come to CityCenter, whose opulent aesthetic has made resorts like Aria and Vdara popular destinations for wedding parties. The Wedding Chapel will favor what the resort describes as a “cool penthouse chic” design: The brown, cream and floral-hued decor will include chrome and mahogany double doors, frosted glass windows and live flowering vines along the walls.
“The Wedding Chapel at Aria will provide a welcome departure from the stereotypical Vegas wedding venue,” Colleen Kestel-Raidmae, Aria’s wedding chapel director, said in a news release. “The completely modern and ultra-luxurious setting will make our chapel a top choice for couples seeking an innovative and unexpected wedding experience.”
The 2,750-square-foot Wedding Chapel will be located on the first floor of Aria’s convention center and can accommodate seating for as many as 60 guests; it will have the ability to broadcast the wedding live online for those who are unable to make the ceremony. The space also includes a foyer for post-ceremony festivities, a dedicated women’s dressing lounge and a groom’s private game lounge with a pool table and a wet bar.
This being Las Vegas, the chapel will still welcome weddings of the traditional and “quickie” varieties, with packages ranging from $1,500 to $21,000. All packages will include photography, flowers, limousine service to and from the Clark County Marriage Bureau and an officiant to perform the ceremony. Aria also will offer couples opportunities to tie the knot elsewhere on its property, including its signature water wall, poolside and the Dale Chihuly glass art gallery.
