What’s an 18-time Olympic gold medalist to do now that he’s hung up his Speedos, jammers and goggles to dry? Party hard in Las Vegas, of course (and like he didn’t do that before retiring from competitive swimming).

Michael Phelps, 27, the most-decorated athlete in Olympic history -- with 22 total medals and the highest medal count of any athlete in three consecutive Olympic Games -- made Las Vegas his home base over the weekend, partying at Ghostbar Dayclub in the Palms by day on Saturday and Hyde Bellagio at night.

Phelps and friends spent Saturday afternoon at Ghostbar Dayclub 55 floors above the city. Phelps held court at a VIP table with Grey Goose and watched as the daytime party’s antics ensued, including a limbo contest followed by a confetti shower.

Once the sun set, Phelps and friends continued their party weekend at Hyde Bellagio. The Las Vegas regular danced and imbibed at a VIP table overlooking the dance floor. Phelps surprised partygoers when he hopped into the DJ booth and deliver several shout-outs.

Phelps enjoyed the company of an attractive blonde wearing a sexy gold dress in his VIP booth. The entourage partied until 3 a.m. enjoying the sounds of DJ Konflikt and the views of the Bellagio Fountains.
