The annual ritual of guessing who will be this year’s bikini beauty on the cover of the bestselling Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is days away. I can’t tell you which shapely siren will be named for the sixth year by talk show host David Letterman on CBS on Monday, but I can tell you she’ll fly here Wednesday after the New York celebration when the issue goes on sale Tuesday.

Will buxom Kate Upton win the cover for a second year? Will Nina Agdal with her outrageously sexy Carl’s Jr. commercial step into the spotlight? Or will it finally be Anne Vyalitsyna (known as Anne V), who I talked with at length at CityCenter when she was here last Valentine’s Day.

Anne is an ex-girlfriend of Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine. Maybe it will be a bolt out of the blue with rookies Hannah Davis, Natasha Barnard or Emily DiDonato?

2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Anne V arrives at Haze in Aria on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012.

For the third consecutive year, 10 of the models from the 2013 issue will be on David’s stage for the reveal, which will be a surprise to viewers and the models. The winning girl will return the next night for an interview with David, who also is talking to Bill O’Reilly, Bruce Willis and Jerry Seinfeld next week.

Then all the magnificent models fly here Wednesday and will all be at Marquee in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas that night. “The Bachelor” and Miss America Pageant host Chris Harrison will be with them at 1 OAK in The Mirage on Thursday with Pitbull entertaining in a private performance.

The official Las Vegas photo shoot will be at our Welcome to Las Vegas sign on Valentine’s Day, and the Caesars Palace pool will be the backdrop for another photo shoot.

Several gorgeous Las Vegas showgirls appear in a special Las Vegas tourism advertorial layout in the issue and on a digital presentation at LasVegas.com/swimsuit after David’s reveal. They get our vote and will be seen by 70 million readers worldwide.

It took the swimsuit issue editors seven months to shoot the photos for the edition that sells millions. They traveled to seven continents, and 17 wonders of the world are included in the pictorials. The locations included the first-ever shoot in Antarctica, sandstorms on African dunes and treacherous cliffs in Asia.

When the beauties and S.I. executives leave Las Vegas on Feb. 15, they’ll all be at the premiere of the first-ever Travel Channel one-hour special “The Making of Swimsuit 13” on Feb. 17 showcasing the models on location around the world.
