Newly engaged actor and singer Justin Timberlake has a much lower presence at this year’s Shriners Children’s Hospitals charity golf tournament week starting Sunday. In fact, and I’m ready to be corrected, I think he will only be on the TPC Summerlin course for photographers once -- for the final winner’s check presentation.

It’s definite that he’s scrapped the final-night concert with a lineup of his star friends. I’ve asked his team and local folks here several times for an explanation about the cancellation, but as of now, not one word. There are rumors that his wedding to actress Jessica Biel is near, which might be the reason behind his low profile. He also is rumored to be in negotiations to star as an alcoholic magazine food critic in “The Last Drop.”

As the Third Annual Food & Wine All-Star Weekend nears next weekend, our friend Gail Simmons sent through an email to Vegas DeLuxe: “I’m thrilled to be hosting for my third consecutive year. It’s going to be a weekend full of extraordinary food and wine by some of the brightest and best culinary talent in the country. With all that will be going on, it’s hard to say what I’m looking forward to most!”

$160 MILLION REMODEL: Executives at MGM Grand today celebrated the completion of its $160 million room and suite remodel in the hotel’s main tower, marking a major milestone in the resort’s grand renovation. The remodel, which began in October 2011, includes 3,570 grand king and queen guest rooms and 642 suites, including the Skyline Terrace, Skyline Marquee Suites and Stay Well Rooms, 42 of them incorporating medical science and technology to support physical and emotional health and well being.

The 12-plus health wellness features in each suite will help guests reverse jetlag , promote better sleep and cleanse the body with infused vitamin C in the shower water. Dr. Deepak Chopra welcomes guests with an educational video on the in-room Stay Well channel. MGM Grand’s evolution continues into next spring with the opening of Hakkasan at the former site of Studio 54.

STAR SURVEILLANCE

Lacey Chabert (“Party of Five,” “Mean Girls”) watched Donny & Marie Osmond’s show at the Flamingo on Wednesday night with her sister.

During the how, Donny sang a moving rendition of “Moon River” as a tribute to the late Andy Williams, who discovered him when he was 5 years old. This is the first time Donny sang it during his show and is now thinking about making it a part of the show to honor the legendary singer who died Tuesday.
