It was only appropriate since Wednesday night’s “Top Chef Masters” episode on Bravo with its 1,500-person pop-up picnic challenge was filmed at the Venetian that I threw a little screening party there with chef Luciano Pellegrino of Valentino’s.

The ladies who had joined me for the original episode filming all dressed in white again with their friends. I chose Valentino’s because that’s where the “Top Chef” cheftestants went to unwind after their filming.

On Wednesday night after Wynn odds-maker Johnny Avello appeared as a guest judge in the Quickfire Challenge, the last four chefs were each given $750 and 30 minutes to shop for ingredients at a local Whole Foods. They then had three hours to cook everything and pack it up in picnic boxes to serve 300 of us waiting at the Venetian forecourt on the Strip.

Chefs Lorena Garcia, Kerry Heffernan and Chris Cosentino were saved by the judges, and Patricia Yeo was sent home. Chris won $10,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation.

Only one episode remains, on Sept. 19, before the finale with the three chefs blindfolded teaching a teammate they don’t know is one of the three celebrity judges!
