Join us for Culinary Clash, an epic cuisine competition where chefs of our renowned restaurants battle it out in front of Doge’s Palace at the Venetian in a party atmosphere complete with a DJ, cuisine and cocktails.

I will host the continuing competition alongside celebrity judges such as chefs Mario Batali, Emeril Lagasse and Sam “Sammy D” DeMarco as competitors fight one another and the clock to create dishes featuring a secret ingredient.

The chefs are from our celebrated collection of restaurants at the Venetian and Palazzo, including Sushi Samba, Table 10, First Food & Bar, Aquaknox, Zine Noodles Dim Sum, Lagasse Stadium, Carnevino, Valentino, Delmonico Steakhouse, B&B Ristorante, Rattlecan, Tao, Lavo and Otto Enoteca Pizzeria.

Each round, another group of chefs will be sent home, so don’t miss any of the action or the exceptional food. A menu of tasty bites will be featured, along with cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. A DJ from Tao will keep the late-night party going at Doge’s Palace with the hottest hits.

The winner of the four-week fight lands the coveted title of master chef. The chefs squaring off and creating dishes from ingredients in a mystery basket also will work in mobile food truck kitchens in Doge’s Palace. Guests may purchase the dishes as they are created.

The competitions kick off today from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. with chefs joining the judging panel. Look for Emeril tonight, Mario on Dec. 7, Sammy on Dec. 14 and a surprise chef Dec. 21 for the finals. Each cooking battle will be highlighted with street entertainment, DJ music and an after-party provided by Tao.

The stakes? The winner receives a trip to Italy with a guest. The festivities are all part of Winter in Venice, a celebration of the winter holiday that runs through Jan. 6 at the Venetian and Palazzo.

Criss Angel survives 'the most dangerous and frightening thing I’ve ever done in my life'

June 18, 2013 • 2:25 p.m.

For 10 nail-biting minutes, several thousand people stood in total silence and watched magician Criss Angel inch his way, blindfolded, across two steel beams swaying 50 feet in the air. This was no illusion for the “Believe” star. No tricks, nothing hidden, no sleight of hand or wizardry to divert attention. The "Mindfreak" star, who is shooting a new series of one-hour specials for Spike TV, was in full view of the audience members, who stopped shopping at the Fashion Show mall on the Strip.
