Since January 2009, Body English has been a second language at Hard Rock Hotel. But the venerable nightclub, which has been opened for select events since closing nearly 4 years ago, is being resurrected.

Announced today is the return of one of the city’s longest-established nightlife brands. Body English is officially reopening Dec. 28, and a grand return-to-flourish party is scheduled for New Year’s Eve.

In a release issued this afternoon, Hard Rock Vice President of Nightlife Michael Goodwin said: “Body English is an iconic nightclub in Las Vegas known for its sensual ambiance and decadent vibe. Our guests have begged for its return, and we’ve listened. We’re bringing back the intimate nightlife experience that everyone knows and loves.”

Body English has always been one of Las Vegas' more prominent underground experiences. For real. The club space sits beneath the casino at the hotel. In its heyday, it was known as one of the city’s premier nightspots and was largely responsible for the surge in DJs as headliners. The club served as the first Las Vegas residency for the late DJ AM.

Since closing, Body English has been used sparingly for such special events as performances by electronic artist Deadmau5 and the KISS By Monster Mini Golf Battle of the Bands competition. On Jan. 2, 2010, the hotel opened the ornately appointed Vanity as its nightspot, which is still in operation.

The return of Body English is the latest component in the hotel’s multimillion-dollar refurbishment, during which the restaurants Culinary Dropout and Fu, the sports bar the Ainsworth and the new rock club Vinyl have all opened.

In its release, Hard Rock officials say they will “continue its history of introducing underground artists and trendsetting genres to the scene. Body English will showcase indie, electronic, rock and pop music.”

The club will be open Thursday through Sunday beginning at 10 p.m.
