Strip Scribbles: Faith Hill’s ‘American Heart’; porn stars moving here?

Faith Hill and Tim McGraw announce their extended engagement at the Venetian on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012.

It’s Faith Hill’s first new music video in nearly 5 years, and in advance of her “American Heart” being part of the upcoming “Soul2Soul” shows at the Venetian starting Dec. 7, fans will see it tonight.

The five-time Grammy winner will release the video with a web event at 6 p.m. PT on FaithHill.com and Facebook.com/FaithHill.

It was filmed in Nashville last month, and the amazing Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers choreography shows a side to the blonde beauty’s talents unseen until now. It’s a partnership with 10-year-old T.J. Jones, and I hope Faith will dazzle with her delightful dancing when here.

Meantime, Nielsen ratings has ranked Faith’s husband Tim McGraw as the most-played artist on country radio. Since his first chart hit in 1992 to his current 50th Top 10 hit “Truck Yeah,” Tim has been certified as the most-played country artist of the past 20 years (1992-2012) with more than 10 million plays. Tim also was ranked by Mediabase as the most-played country artist in its history. Big congratulations as the loving couple get ready for Las Vegas.

WICKED WHISPERS & RACY RUMORS

Following the California voting Tuesday on increased sales taxes and a porn-film ruling that all performers must now use condoms, there’s industry talk of moving the adult film business here. Nothing definite yet, but in the past few months, there’s been a large uptick in XXX movies filmed in Nevada. “The political outcome Tuesday guarantees more of us will be moving to Las Vegas for future production. There’s conversations about an en-masse move,” an industry exec told me.

MISS UNIVERSE PREPARES: Less than 2 weeks remain before 85 gorgeous girls jet into McCarran for the 2012 Miss Universe Pageant. Each beauty will have three suitcases packed with outfits and swimsuits for the pageant. Dec. 6 is the official kickoff with a fashion show.

2011 Miss Universe Leila Lopes is wrapping up her year of service this week visiting Namibia, Kenya and Mozambique stressing the importance of social outreach. The Angolan stunner then also packs and heads here to crown her successor.

Interview sessions take place at Planet Hollywood on Dec. 11 and 12. Preliminary pageants start Dec. 13 to determine the finalists who’ll compete Dec. 19. On Dec. 14, the pageant princesses showcase national costumes. Dec. 16 is the Miss Universe national gift auction and then the live NBC broadcast Dec. 19. Last year’s global telecast reached more than 1 billion viewers.

BRIEFS, BRAS & PANTIES: Performers in the new limited-run “Spank!” parody that opened Wednesday night at the Rio drop drawers and strip down to next to nothing. Rush to catch it as its showcase ends this weekend. If laughter and reaction is any indication, expect it to return next year. Mr. Dangerous sheds inhibitions and clothes to his briefs, and the dominated, love-struck, submissive actress struts her stuff in lacy lingerie.

CHEF SURPRISE: After four years, Steve Wynn’s chef Kim Canteenwalla is leaving Society Cafe at the end of the month. He told his staff Wednesday, and his move has the hotel tycoon’s blessing. Kim joins his wife Elizabeth Blau to expand their just-opened Honey Salt in Summerlin.

Its runaway success, rave reviews and customer commendations have convinced the duo that it can expand into additional cities. They also plan to add a bakery and build a product line. “We are very excited for its future,” Elizabeth told me.

CONGRATULATIONS: Clint Holmes’ lovely wife singer Kelly Clinton has been nominated by the 2012 Broadway World Las Vegas Awards as Best Female Comedian for her work on the Vegas Video Network’s show “Talk Tails.” She’s up against Rita Rudner and Carla Rae. Vegas DeLuxe wishes her good luck; the nomination is richly deserved.

NEW AERIALS: Three times a year, our contributing photographer Tom Donoghue takes off to the skies in a Maverick Helicopter to capture the ever-changing skyline of Las Vegas. Here’s his latest collection that includes construction of Hakkasan at MGM Grand, Bagatelle at the adjacent Tropicana and the new dueling observation wheels on the Strip.

FREE SHOWS: For the remainder of November, Fremont Street Experience is adding a series of free concerts to its entertainment lineup. Yellow Brick Road starts tonight and every Thursday to month’s end; Loveshack is Friday and every Friday; and my favorite duo Zowie Bowie plays Saturday. Other bands playing the 3rd Street Stage include The Spazmatics, The Nancy Rayguns, Brazen and Monroy.

STAR SURVEILLANCE

“America’s Got Talent Live in Las Vegas” performers Joe Castillo and William Close visited two Las Vegas middle schools Wednesday giving lectures and demonstrations in art and music and encouraging students to pursue their dreams. They signed autographs, answered questions and posed for photographs. “One thing always leads to the next,” William told them. “Life is all about steps, so don’t be discouraged if everything doesn’t come all at once.”

Musician Marcus Canty was at Culinary Dropout in the Hard Rock Hotel to help the gastropub raise awareness for Movember and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Donning a faux mustache, the “X Factor” Season 1 alumnus went onstage for photos before dining.

Sergio Vallin, lead guitarist of Mana, joined Carlos Santana onstage for a performance Wednesday night at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay.

TONIGHTS TIP’S

Broadway and TV star Florence Henderson headlines the Fourth Annual AFAN Evening of Cabaret at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts to benefit Aid for AIDS of Nevada. It’s an intimate evening with songs from her show “All the Lives of Me.”

Jeremy Cornwell and his one-man band are at Hyde Bellagio.

“Bar Rescue” star Jon Taffer leads a Rescue Tour workshop at Treasure Island to help bar owners run their businesses better, smoother and more profitably.
