Photos: DJ Jazzy Jeff’s summer, summer, summertime at Palms
By Don Chareunsy
Summer … summer … summertime.
DJ Jazzy Jeff performed at Ditch Fridays in the Palms Pool & Bungalows at the Palms for the first official daytime pool party of “Summertime” last Friday. Sporting a Philadelphia Phillies jersey, shorts and Nike LeBron 9 Low USA kicks (it’s safe to assume that he is a LeBron James, if not necessarily a Miami Heat fan), Jazzy was joined by his hype-man MC Skillz for the performance at the weekly adult pool party.
To kick off the dynamic duo’s performance, a champagne shower from the Palms Pool ladies covered guests as they danced up against the stage. Jazzy’s set included remixes of hits including LMFAO’s “Shots,” Chris Webby’s “WDGAF” and Alexandra Stan’s “Mr. Saxo Beat.” Also in the mix were throwback hits including Bob Marley’s “One Love” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston.
Before his guest DJ performance, Jazzy was asked what his favorite music memory is: “I don’t think I’ve had it yet. This has been a dream, and I’m still living it.”
The “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” star also said that Will Smith is the artist he is the proudest to have worked with (they co-starred on “Bel-Air”: “When we started, he sat on the step and said he wanted to make movies, and I said that I wanted to do music. Even till today, we kind of look at each other and say, ‘Wow, we really did that.’ ”
