While Robin Leach takes his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy, many of our Strip and Las Vegas personalities have stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. Our thanks to them all. We continue today with a Las Vegas success story from Angela Stabile, the producer of “X Burlesque,” those very sexy topless glamour girls at the Flamingo.

Frankie Sidoris was destined to be a rock star. When he was in kindergarten and asked to write a paper on what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said a rock star. He wrote how they were given free dinners and drove around in limousines and how everyone loved them.

Before I produced my own show, “X Burlesque,” I was a dancer for 15 years. I auditioned to be in Crazy Girls in 1988, when Frankie was only 4 months old, and got the job. Frankie had the life of Mel Gibson in “What Women Want.” Beautiful women constantly surrounded him. It was not a big deal to him -- just reality.

Rock stars surrounded Frankie at an early age. On my way to rehearsal one day, I had a chance to meet Jon Bon Jovi. Frankie was buckled in a car seat that you carry. We walked in and during the meeting, Bon Jovi accidentally hit the car seat off the desk it was sitting on, turning the seat upside down on the floor.

He jumped back and put his hands over his mouth. Luckily, Frankie was strapped in and didn’t even hit the floor or cry. A few months later, I met Aerosmith as they were working on an upcoming tour and got a picture with Joe Perry holding Frankie.

Frankie decided to play guitar when he was 12 years old and ended up taking guitar class at Coronado High. Coincidentally, his best friend Robert Zakarian is now a guitarist in the band Adelita’s Way. They took guitar class together and went all the way to the Nevada State competitions, where Frankie took first runner-up in classical guitar.

They’ve been lucky to have done several performances together at rock festivals across the country. It’s really an amazing success story for both of them to become rock stars.

In 2009, Frankie joined a local band called Saint Rose. One of their original songs, “Showgirl,” is featured in “X Burlesque.” After the band split, Frankie joined the Cab in 2011. Former Guns ’N’ Roses guitarist Slash saw the band perform at the Roxy in L.A. and invited Frankie to perform at a private audition.

Frankie flew back to L.A. while on tour with the Cab in Canada, auditioned and flew back on tour the next morning. Slash’s wife Perla Hudson notified Frankie the next day that he was chosen, and the rest is history.

Today, Frankie is a guitarist for Slash’s new band Slash & the Conspirators. He is currently on a world tour promoting their album “Apocalyptic Love.” Their first single, “You’re a Lie,” is currently No. 1 on the U.S. rock charts.

Congratulations to Slash, who got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on July 10, and Slash & the Conspirators with Frankie were with him. They also recently performed on “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” Frankie’s childhood dream of becoming a rock star came true.

He is one of my proudest achievements!
