For the second year in a row, the Strip is set to play 48-hour host to a gaggle of popular hard rock acts and thousands of hard rock fans. Just don't call this year's event the 48 Hours Festival. That's sooooo 2011.

The new event, called Rock Vegas, will take place at Mandalay Bay Events Center on Friday, Sept. 28, and Saturday, Sept. 29. Set to perform: Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach, P.O.D., Adelitas Way, New Medicine, Deuce and Redlight King on Day 1 and Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Stonesour, Buckcherry, All That Remains, Art of Dying and Otherwise on Day 2.

Tickets -- $39 to $79 for single-day tickets, $78 to $158 for two-day passes and $200 to $400 for VIP packages -- go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. through RockVegasFest.com.

Last October, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Godsmack, Hatebreed, Sevendust, Five Finger Death Punch and others played on two stages in the Luxor festival grounds.
