Cee Lo’s ‘Loberace’ at Planet Hollywood is postponed until 2013

Cee Lo Green’s “Loberace,” scheduled to begin Aug. 29 at Planet Hollywood’s “Peepshow” theater, has been postponed until an unspecified time in ’13.
Green's manager, Blue Edwards, confirmed today via e-mail that the show will be pushed back until next year. No dates have yet been provided as to when “Loberace,” a dazzling production that is to be a nod to the garish staging of Liberace’s performances in Las Vegas, will bow in ’13.
The reasons given for the postponement are twofold: NBC is asking Green to delay the opening so that he can honor his scheduling commitments for “The Voice,” which will carry though until at least the end of this year (Green is a judge on the popular singing contest show).
Also, the staging for “Loberace” is more elaborate than first envisioned, and additional time is needed to assemble all of the fancy effects.
Edwards says the decision was mutual between the network and Green (as yet, Caesars Entertainment officials have not commented on the shift in scheduling).
As Edwards said in an e-mail response to questions about the postponement, “No one was ordered to do anything, we all agreed we could do better for each project by making the move.”
