If the world doesn’t end today as the Mayan Calendar forecasts, then entertainment and partying will continue on the Strip this weekend, albeit in a much more subdued manner.

That’s not because of the doomsday prediction but because families are scurrying far and wide with Christmas travel, and our normal visitor invasion is on hold getting ready for next week’s New Year’s Eve celebration weekend insanity.

Yes, it’s the quietest weekend of the year ahead of the noisiest, but there’s still something for everybody, from the wild rap antics of Snoop Dogg to the more classical tones and holiday music of the Las Vegas Tenors. There are even “End of the World” and basketball events.

However, for music and comedy fans, you’ll have to wait until next week when Jerry Seinfeld entertains in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace ahead of headliner Celine Dion’s return.
