DJ Kaskade, who has thrilled partygoers in recent months with his residencies at Marquee at the Cosmopolitan and Encore Beach Club at Steve Wynn’s Encore, will receive the 2011 America’s Best DJ Award on Sunday at Marquee in a ceremony sponsored by Pioneer DJ and DJ Times magazine.

Kaskade’s award was announced during the summer, and Sunday night’s private awards ceremony at The Library will be followed by a night at Marquee Nightclub featuring the top DJ that is rarity for two reasons: Marquee isn’t normally open Sunday nights, and the party is free to the public.

“I am really proud to be named America’s Best DJ. When I look at the Top 10 list, there are so many talented people on there, people that I have looked up to for years. So to be awarded this title among such an awesome group is a great feeling. I really want to thank all my fans for voting and their continued support,” Kaskade said in a news release.

DJ Z-Trip, who won in 2009 and had a residency at the Palms, is expected to attend the ceremony, as is DJ Times Editor Jim Tremayne. The awards have been held at the Palms, and this is Marquee’s first year hosting the event (granted, Marquee opened in December 2010).

In final voting, Kaskade was first, followed by Skrillex, Z-Trip, B.T., Steve Aoki, Diplo, Wolfgang Gartner, A-Trak, Bassnectar and Designer Drugs. Check back next week for coverage of the awards, and congratulations to L.A.-based Kaskade, birth name Ryan Raddon, and the other American DJs who were recognized this year.
