Jersey Shore star Pauly D flew all the way to Las Vegas from shooting Season 4 episodes in Milan, Italy, to start his new residency and join a globally acclaimed roster at the Palms over the weekend. A red, white and green carpet was even rolled out for the Italian stallion.

Pauly flew back to New Jersey yesterday to start filming Season 5 after weekend-long sets that attracted thousands to the Palms Pool for Ditch Friday, Rain and then Moon for NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s retirement party. Here’s Scott Monaco’s official Palms video posted on YouTube:

Providence, R.I., DJ Paul DelVecchio is recognized for his musical talent, as well as his reality TV star status on MTV’s highest-rated show. Jersey Shore debuted in December 2009, and 1 1/2 years later, Pauly has landed a spinoff that will be headquartered at the Palms, as we reported Friday, capturing his DJ career. DJ Times magazine honored him as “America’s Best DJ” last June.

Tomorrow here at Vegas DeLuxe, we’ll post my one-on-one interview with him about his new series. He also reveals some of the behind-the-scenes secrets of filming Season 4 in Italy and the scrapes they got into before finally winning over the Italian politicos who had blasted their guido lifestyle on the series.

Videographer Richard Corey was on duty with me when we went out onto the Ghostbar patio to celebrate Pauly’s new DJ residency and then as we hit Palms Pool & Bungalows for his first set.

While on his jam-packed visit at the Palms, Pauly and friends dined at Chef Geno Bernardo’s Nove Italiano, while Pauly also went to Britney Spears’ concert at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night.
