Superstar Shania Twain, our new Caesars Palace resident headliner, answers her own show’s big question as she brings “Why Not? With Shania Twain to its season finale Sunday on the Oprah Winfrey Network. It also is the day that the first song she’s written solo in six years, “Today Is Your Day,” is released as her latest single.

Shania made headlines this week with the official confirmation of rumors we reported as early as January that she is joining the lineup of Celine Dion, Sir Elton John and Rod Stewart at The Colosseum. Our story five months ago was sparked when she sat on the roof of Caesars and posed for a photograph to promote her series on OWN. On Sunday’s show, you’ll hear her say in her own words why she’s decided after a long absence to perform again -- in Las Vegas!

*Hometown rocker Vince Neil joined his Motley Crue bandmates last night to kick off their newest summer tour in Dallas. Poison, with frontman Bret Michaels, and The New York Dolls are opening for them. The highlight when they play Red Rock Resort Amphitheater here next weekend could be the stunning 360-degree rollercoaster that Tommy Lee performs drums on while revolving.

It’s the first time these legendary rock bands are on tour together, and all three are celebrating major milestones -- Motley Crue marks its 30th year, Poison its 25th and New York Dolls their 40th anniversary. Their summer-long tour was extended last night because Vince will take them Down Under in September to dates in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Sharron Angle's new book Right Angle.

*When former teacher and housewife Sharron Angle ran against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid last year, she was propelled from relative obscurity to the national spotlight. Now she’s written a book, Right Angle, to share her insights as an active participant in government. The cover photograph was taken by our Las Vegas photographer pal and jewelry designer who goes by the name of Victor the SnakeMannn.

*Nice to see our Vegas Inc colleague Amanda Finnegan getting confirmation of our Gene Simmons story of opening a miniature golf course here. Amanda is reporting that it will be a glow-in-the-dark indoor course at The Shoppes of Harmon Square with a $3 million, 10-year lease. The 18-hole Rock’n Mini Golf is set to open in November and will feature a DJ playing KISS music and animated KISS props on the greens. A private room can be booked for KISS golf weddings.

Karon Kate Blackwell and Marty Allen.

*Legendary hometown comedian Marty Allen, who celebrates his 90th birthday next year, is still going strong performing an incredible 600 shows a year on tour, on cruise ships and here. We’re lucky enough to get him next week for a five-night run starting Tuesday at Palace Station. With then-partner Steve Rossi, Marty appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show 40 times, one of which directly followed The Beatles’ first U.S. TV debut.
