Just 16 days after an unexpected Dec. 8 Las Vegas wedding, Irish singer-songwriter Sinead O’Connor has ended her fourth marriage, to Barry Herridge, on Christmas Eve, admitting that the marriage lasted only one week.
Sinead revealed the news this morning saying she was sorry that they had rushed into the marriage and made a mistake that caused “anguish with his family” and “threatened his work as a child therapist.”
Vegas DeLuxe posted a report and a photo gallery of their Pink Cadillac ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip, which contributing photographer Erik Kabik shot for them.
Sinead said that Barry was too nice to trap and that she broke up with him because he was too nice to do it himself. On her Web site, Sinead wrote: “We haven’t been awful to each other. While I feel sad for my husband and sad to be the cause of sorrow to yet another poor man, I’m also happy to know we weren’t horrible to each other, and he is better off free.”
The couple met when she advertised for a “wham-bam” husband via an online dating sex ad. She said that her husband of a week had become “terribly unhappy.”
