Rockers 30 Seconds to Mars have agreed to perform over Memorial Day Weekend at the opening of the new Center Strip rooftop party complex directly below the Eiffel Tower replica at the Paris.

They are the first of what is expected to be a long list of stars and rockers set for a manic and memorable Memorial Day Weekend at the end of May. I confirmed the exclusive news of yesterday’s signed agreement this morning, and the official announcement is expected by the end of this week.

The giant concert and party space is an expansion -- previously planned -- for the newly opened Chateau Nightclub & Gardens. This additional outdoor area -- three floors up from the Strip -- is nestled between the four legs of the famous Parisian landmark. It has a 180-degree view of the Strip and faces the Bellagio fountains.

Memorial Day -- similar to New Year’s Eve -- is a major tourism weekend for our economy, and the Strip concert by L.A.-based 30 Seconds to Mars is the first major contract signing for the big holiday weekend invasion.

Jared Leto, Shannon Leto and Tomo Milicevic make up the band members of 30 Seconds to Mars, who burst onto the music scene in 1998. They have released three studio albums, scored a success on their global tours and have performed here at The Pearl at the Palms and The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel.

“This is a major coup for Chateau’s new space. You couldn’t ask for a better group to kick off the new venue,” I was told. “They are the superstar headline group now for the big holiday. Every other club on the Strip will now be playing catch-up.”

Ticket sales and reservations will be announced in the next few days when the official announcement is made. But, as always, you learn it first and fast from VegasDeLuxe.com.
