Secret, sexy and, yes, even decadent. The highly anticipated opening tonight by reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian of Gallery Nightclub at Planet Hollywood is certain to evoke those descriptions. But you’re forgiven if you go farther and say it’s like walking into Eyes Wide Shut! Remember that erotic 1999 Stanley Kubrick drama starring then-husband-and-wife Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman?
“It’s unbridled, sensual nightlife and entertainment unlike any experience ever offered before in Sin City,” I was told. “This is where you can explore your deepest fantasies.”
Gallery will certainly be just as provocative as the film, but only hint at the sexual revelry. The light-box photography by Christian Horan leaves it all to the imagination when it comes to masked vixens in lacy lingerie. With light boxes strewn throughout, it’s a uniquely aesthetic experience, and I haven’t even begun to talk about the adjoining Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon that opens next month.
Oversized art frames adorn the walls showcasing photography depicting voyeuristic imagery as a playful backdrop for guests. Designed by Amy Kim of AK Design Network, the 20,000-square-foot space fuses vintage gothic design with contemporary touches. Amy, who collaborated with Philippe Starck on the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., has designed every room at Gallery to expose a new sinful secret. In the decadent Red Room, subjects in 3D photographs follow guests’ every move, and in the Gold Room, a beautiful femme fatale performs a striptease in an oversized champagne glass.
Gorgeous performance dancers styled in voyeuristic fashions will perform nightly in a mysterious glow from the candlelit glass fireplaces in all the rooms. The Main Room is the center of attention with a dance floor, two bars and an elevated DJ booth. State-of-the-art sound and lighting blanket every room of Gallery, where DJs will spin mixes of house, hip-hop and Top 40.
When Robin Antin’s Pussycat Dolls Burlesque Saloon opens next month, it will add even more talent and sex appeal with an interactive setting. Burlesque fantasies will come to life in the 4,500-square-foot venue, with lingerie-clad bartenders pouring shots and climbing on the bar for performances throughout the night. Ladies can display their inner Pussycat Doll and flaunt what they’ve got on raised platforms and rhinestone-studded carousel horses.

The Pussycat Dolls will be there and will strut their stuff on rhinestone letters spelling out D-O-L-L-S behind the bar. There will be hotter-than-hot performances by burlesque dancers in everything from a center-room bath to an overblown champagne glass. Robin promises me that she has several celebrities ready to join the ranks of past celebrity Pussycat Dolls (Carmen Electra, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Eva Longoria) for guest appearances.
It all starts tonight with Kourtney’s 32nd birthday bash. With her dry, sarcastic humor and killer fashion sense, she’s the perfect hostess for the sensual nightspot. Younger sister Kim also will be on the Strip this weekend for the official opening of the new summer season at MGM Grand’s Wet Republic.
