From July 14 through Aug. 4, Robin Leach will be relaxing under the Tuscan sun on his annual vacation and keeping his eyes on what’s happening in Las Vegas from Italy. Meantime, a kindly crew of Las Vegas celebrities and VIPs has agreed to write guest columns for Vegas DeLuxe.

Greetings, mates,

Just coming off the tails of what was truly probably the best show I have had at Caesars Palace to date. Definitely one of the best weekends and one of my favorite shows in Las Vegas so far. This particular Saturday night, everyone seemed so up and lively. All the seats in The Gossy Room were full, and it was jam-packed.

We went onstage, and there was fluidity to the performance -- it was so nice. The band was on, I was on, and the crowd was singing to us, as well, as we were singing to them. I’m not sure if people know that after my show, The Gossy Room turns into a club and stays open till 3 or 4 a.m.

The club was really crazy, and we crammed all kinds of people in there. To top it off, we finished off our weekend with the World Cup final game showing in The Gossy Room. The turnout was amazing, and the room was absolutely packed.

Good to come here and hang out with people who work here, and the game is a good excuse for beer in the morning. Beer for breakfast and football are a good thing!

Good stuff just done. I just learned that my record received Record of the Week in London on a radio station with one of the new “Firefly” remixes I did with Paul Oakenfold. There’s a real buzz on our current single.

It’s great to record with Paul. He’s such a good guy, and we’re both from London. I’m breaking down walls and making new friends. I really enjoy having a place where I regularly perform, like Las Vegas, and to know the other kind of music I am doing is being heard in other facets, as well.

I’m really excited about the debut of my jewelry line, which is being sold at Geary’s, the most premium jewelers in Beverly Hills. I have about 30 pieces in the collection, and it’s beautiful. I just gave a lovely piece to my manager, Robin Antin, cherries made of Burma rubies and tsavorite garnets for the green leaves. It is very rare and made from rose gold, truly beautiful.

It’s a great feeling to have your own jewelry line sold in a premiere estabishment such as Geary’s, where I have been buying stuff for years and years, and now they’re selling my stuff.

It really is nice to be here and see locals coming out to the show. I love seeing people making an effort and really getting dressed up when they come to my show. It’s a real honor to have locals come in and truly let go and have a good time. My show is edgier than most people think. They don’t think they’re going to break a sweat, but they do, and it’s a great feeling.

I’m very proud to be at Caesars Palace. I’ve learned a lot from playing in such an intimate showroom. It’s so different than playing in an arena, and I’ve learned so much more than I ever thought I could.

I have learned to be still and own my space. Being able to see the whites of people’s eyes affords a real connection, more of a connection than can be had at a stadium. Certain nuances come into play in a small room. You have to connect, and you make individual connections in a small showroom.

After 20 years, I never realized I could still learn so much. OK, time to pack up and head home to L.A.

Cheers!
