Las Vegas producers Rick Garson and Ed Winfield are the brains behind the mega-star concert Show of Peace to be broadcast live worldwide from the Beijing Olympics Stadium in China on April 17. The global peace concert honors the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and simultaneously advocates world peace and harmony with the slogan “Drop Rhymes, Not Bombs.”

Legendary Led Zeppelin guitarist and Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Page and Aerosmith co-founder and lead guitarist Joe Perry are two of the first to sign up to appear and perform on a special stage outside the “Bird’s Nest.” Michael Jackson’s guitarist Orianthi also will perform with Chinese superstars Xiao Ke and Ai Jing for the event expected to reach 2 billion people.

For more details and to watch the daily countdown, go to ShowofPeace.com. The concert is part of a yearlong campaign to promote world peace and the environmental.

Michael Jackson's This Is It.

*When Michael Jackson lived in Las Vegas before he moved to L.A. to prepare for his London This Is It concerts, he rented a mansion here with extensive security. Located at 2785 South Monte Cristo, the 15,461-square-foot house of seven bedrooms and 10 baths sits on more than 1 acre and includes a pool, a spa, tennis and basketball courts and a 20-seat theater. Congratulations to my friend Lee Medick at the Las Vegas Fine Estates division of Tower Reality, who sold it last night for more than $3 million to a California couple.

*I’m awaiting details of the hush-hush Stripper Bar project that’s being installed alongside V Theater in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile. It will include dancers and stripper poles, but other details are secret for now. Meantime, Billabong and Sugar Factory will be joining the retailers there next month.

*It’s a quiet 10th anniversary that would go unnoticed except for our eagle eyes! Last night, Blue Man Group tried to quietly celebrate its 10th anniversary in Las Vegas by dropping the ticket price to $49 in their custom-built showroom at The Venetian. Locals get a bonus, with prices starting at $42. The pricing is effective through March 31. I’m told that they don’t celebrate anniversaries because “Blue Man is timeless.” People of all ages agree that BMG is an intensely exciting and wildly outrageous experience that leaves the audience overjoyed, blissful and exuberant!

*The cougars from the Las Vegas Cougar Convention at the Tropicana agreed on one thing: The cutest cub at the event wasn’t of the humankind! It was Tropicana headliner Dirk Arthur’s 2-month old white tiger cub Saber, who is being groomed for stardom in Dirk’s show Xtreme Magic. Our contributing photographer Scott Harrison shot these photos to prove that where there are cougars, the cubs are sure to find their way.

*Once again, it was celebrity gridlock in the restaurants and nightclubs of the Palms. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and T.J. Houshmandzadeh of the Seattle Seahawks dined at N9NE Steakhouse in a party of four. Executive chef Barry Dakake sent out desserts to top off their dinner. Jake Peavy of the Chicago White Sox and UFC head honcho Dana White also were at N9NE at separate tables. … Academy Award-winning rap group Three 6 Mafia (DJ Paul and Juicy J) joined DJ Z-Trip for a special performance at Z-Trip’s Revolution in Rain. Afterward, the group hung out at a VIP table onstage where they sipped vodka cocktails and Perrier Jouet Champagne. Three 6 Mafia also had dinner in Nove Italiano with friends. … Up in Ghostbar, semi-retired NBA player and broadcaster Malik Rose was joined by two friends for cocktails before heading to a table at Rain, and pro poker player Antonio Esfandiari enjoyed cocktails with a lady friend. Steven Jackson of the St. Louis Rams, Carson and T.J. also enjoyed the scene at Ghostbar. … Oakland Raiders quarterback Brad Gradkowski was joined by five friends in Moon at a private table on the dance floor, while Criss Angel partied at a VIP table with eight friends.
