New show at The M Resort is hot, tempting and sizzling

The newest live show in Las Vegas opens today, and, as to be expected, it’s hot, sizzling, tempting and tasty. However, it has nothing to do with topless dancers or burlesque acrobatics. This is all about cooking up a storm in the kitchen mixed with nutrition, fitness and wellness. It’s an entertaining experience none the same, and it has a pinch of education, too.

Just like other shows on the Strip, there’s a star and a demanding schedule of three performances a day five days a week. Call this one Martini Time starring chef Tina Martini. But it’s the only show of its kind here, and it debuts today inside a custom-built TV cooking studio at The M Resort’s buffet. The kitchen was the location for the recent Top Chef Masters on Bravo.

The 60-minute Martini Time With Chef Tina Martini is similar to a TV cooking show. The audience is entertained, and in addition to the teaching aspects of the show, there’s complimentary food and beverage samplings, plus a special “handy hints” and “tasty tips” handout -- a chef Tina signature -- covering nutrition, fitness and mind and body.

“My shows are about real food and real fun. It’s about wellness -- eating great and feeling great. I give practical advice, tips and techniques to empower people in various areas of their life,” said Tina, who is known as the “naturopathic chef.”

Martini Time With Chef Tina Martini is presented exclusively inside Studio B Buffet’s cooking studio, which features multiple TV cameras and lights, Viking appliances and state-of-the-art kitchen cutlery and equipment. The kitchen-within-a-kitchen concept was custom-built for a cooking show.

“So many people want to learn -- whether it’s learning cooking techniques, entertainment tips or strategies for better health and wellness. Tina brings tremendous knowledge in all those areas. She’s witty, energetic and most importantly personable. We’re looking forward to having her as our resident show chef,” said Anthony A. Marnell III, chairman and CEO of The M Resort.

Ticket prices will include a Studio B Buffet lunch or dinner depending on show times, as well as reserved seating at the buffet after the show. The M also plans to launch a Web portal for Tina with recipes, videos, updates and tips.

I’d planned to go to one of her preliminary test shows yesterday, but because of deadlines and today’s Miss America Pageant stories, I had no time available. As one of the founders of The Food Network, I have added Tina’s show as a must-do visit!
