Congratulations to Donny Osmond on today’s start of his radio show. The Flamingo headliner records the show either backstage in his dressing room on the Strip or at his Utah home, where he has a full recording facility.
You can get the entire list of radio stations from as far east as Boston to as far west as Anchorage on Donny’s Web site Donny.com. Surprisingly, it’s not playing on a Las Vegas radio station yet, but that oversight should change very soon.
*Two big party celebrations not to be forgotten from the weekend:
I know we covered yesterday Nina Dobrev’s 21st birthday bash at MGM’s Studio 54, which was simultaneously celebrating its 12th anniversary, but I didn’t tell you about her dress: It was a navy blue and black bandage dress from French Connection and showcased her phenomenal legs. Also, her two smoldering leading men Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder were far more interested in the blackjack tables than the party. They covered themselves with hats to avoid cameras, stayed only 20 minutes inside the club, and then left her to go gaming with newcomer Matt Davis.
Nina talked about the excitement for The Vampire Diaries debut season: “It’s been a crazy ride this past year. I remember a year ago on the 9th of January, my birthday, and I was 20 in Venice Beach surfing, and this year, I’m on this great show, I have all these great friends, and I’m in Vegas! It’s insane to think of what a journey it’s been in one year. I’m really lucky!”
Nina and the cast start filming this week, and she revealed a secret about her character Elena: “The end of this next episode is going to be extremely shocking, and it’s going to take everyone by surprise,” she said. Also joining Nina were real-life love mates Sara Paxton and Nico Tortorella of the now-canceled The Beautiful Life.
Katee Sackhoff from Fox’s 24 celebrated the new season with her parents and friends, including her Battlestar Galactica co-star Tricia Helfer, at Lavo in the Palazzo. Katee wore a sequined Diane Von Furstenberg dress and Jimmy Choo stilettos for her Italian dinner. She signed autographs and posed for photos and then kicked off her party upstairs with Patron shots with Tricia. Tricia surprised her with a 24 cake to celebrate the new season.
Katee and Tricia also hit Tao in The Venetian while in town. Also seen at Lavo was Bill Rancic, the winner of The Apprentice Season 1 and current co-star of Giuliana and Bill on E! with wife Giuliana Rancic. Bill dined with E! executives and enjoyed vodka cocktails. At Tao, DJ Steve Angello headlined Global House Sessions and spun for a packed nightclub, with 4,700 fans pouring through the doors through the night.

Elijah Johnson during "Las Vegas Celebrates the Music of Michael Jackson" at The Pearl in the Palms.
*Young Elijah Johnson, who made headlines here with his sensational performances as Young Simba in The Lion King at Mandalay Bay, is destined for stardom. Disney has tapped him to play the same role for its North American tour. Elijah is about to sign a contract with the Maloof family’s entertainment group, who’ll represent him in show business, and he has just finished four tracks for his debut demo album Lil Elijah.
Star surveillance
*Former Miss Oregon Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche, who went on to win Miss Teen USA, shocked fans and stirred up controversy when she posed nude for Playboy in November 2004 and then was on Season 3 of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. She certainly took control of Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile when she hosted there over the weekend, and our contributing photographer Scott Harrison, who was everywhere the past 72 hours, snapped these sexy shots.
UFC fighter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at Vanity in the Hard Rock Hotel on Jan. 17, 2010.
*All the stars seem to have found Vanity since it opened 18 days ago in the new HRH Tower at the Hard Rock Hotel. P. Diddy on Jan. 2 and Paris Hilton this past weekend aside, comedian Eddie Griffin sat with musician Morris Day in a VIP booth on the dance floor, and UFC fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was alongside them in the adjoining booth. Rampage plays B.A. Barracus in the movie The A-Team on June 11. He got on the mic and led the crowd in a crazy rendition of The A-Team theme song. LMFAO hung out in the DJ booth. Also there over the weekend: Larry Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals, rapper Shwayze and Cisco Adler.
Cincinnati Bengals defensive tackle Domata Peko and teammate Larry Johnson at XS nightclub inside the Encore on Jan. 15, 2010.
*Larry also turned up at XS in the Encore and was joined by teammate Domata Pekpo, who was there in a separate group. The night really sizzled with 2007 Playmate of the Year Sara Underwood waving to fans from her VIP table overlooking the dance floor.
*Celebrity chef Ming Tsai of Simply Ming dined at the Society Cafe bar in the Encore, sipped on the Classic Mojito and then asked the bartender to concoct a martini with yuzu and pomegranate. Frankie Avalon also dined at Society. … Steve Wynn’s celebrated seafood genius chef Paul Bartolotta made his debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Jimmy fell in love with Paul’s incredible food on a recent visit here and insisted that he and his daughter come on the show.
Wayne Brady at Blush in the Wynn.
*Next door at Blush in the Wynn, socialite Susan Casden ordered shots of Patron and had DJ Mighty Mi play her requests of Journey and Prince while she danced with girlfriends until 3 a.m. Now how do you know her name? She’s famous for having her name on the Hermes Birkin bag. Let’s Make a Deal host Wayne Brady enjoyed cocktails with friends in the VIP section at Blush and also turned up at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms with a party of three.
*What better way to make someone special feel extra special than when you host them for a birthday party at your own restaurant? That’s exactly what legendary guitarist B.B. King did over the weekend for his granddaughter’s birthday at his Blues Club in The Mirage.
Brian Evans and Roseanne Barr at the Hard Rock Cafe in Maui on Jan. 15, 2010.
*Las Vegas crooner Brian Evans, who is now shuttling back and forth for his Maui Celebrity Series at the Hard Rock Cafe, brought in comedienne Roseanne Barr, another Hawaii resident, over the weekend. I’m told the sold-out crowd relished being in the Domestic Goddess’s presence as she performed an entire show after Brian performed his 45-minute opening set. Brian next features Hal Sparks of Talk Soup and Queer as Folk fame, followed by Joan Rivers and Ziggy Marley.
Andrew Dice Clay.
Tonight’s tips
Do you dare sit in The Dice Pit for four-letter funnyman Andrew Dice Clay as he returns to the Riviera’s cabaret showroom for a run through the end of the month? … In the Riviera’s Mardi Gras Comedy Club, comedy impressionist Billy Garan headlines with standup Gary Caouette and quick wit D’Lai through Sunday. … Jet in The Mirage will be on fire with Just Blaze and the Blazettes.
Tomorrow’s teases
Barry Manilow is set for his live QVC broadcast to debut his new album from the Champagne Ballroom at the Paris, and we’ll be there to chronicle it. Plus, my oh-so-sexy night in the new Hard Rock Hotel Tower’s Provocateur Suite. It defies description as a one-of-a-kind suite and truly the only one in the world. And the Viva Elvis cast has finished two weeks of rehearsals and is back with previews, so we do it by the numbers and count down the incredible statistics.
