Strip Scribbles: Happy Birthday to hometown rocker Vince Neil

Happy Birthday and best wishes to our hometown rocker and Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil. My good pal takes time off from the current Canadian tour long enough this weekend to be home here to celebrate his birthday. First up, a bash for fans and friends tomorrow night at his Dr. Feelgood’s Rock Bar & Grill. He’ll perform with his own Vince Neil Band at his party, which also will feature entertainment by Dinner Music for the Gods.

The party is expected to last to dawn, so Blandini will be playing from midnight on. Vince will host his own private dinner celebration on Monday at N9NE Steakhouse in the Palms. I’ve been invited to the festivities throughout the weekend, so we’ll have stories and photos from the celebrations.

*It’s now official that sexy, sultry Cheaza will co-star opposite Holly Madison when Peepshow returns March 1 at Planet Hollywood. Congratulations to Wayne Brady’s ex-backup singer-dancer from his Venetian shows. Cheaza was understudy to Mel B and Aubrey O’Day when they held the role of Peep Diva, which also was performed by Shoshana Bean.

*Hollywood, sports and poker celebrities will fight it out at the Hard Rock Hotel this weekend to determine who is this year's Trash Talk Champion of the World. Tomorrow, the Hard Rock hosts a No Limit Texas Hold ’Em charity poker tournament benefiting the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in L.A., with modern artist Michael Godard as the emcee. The champion wins cash, a 20-pound custom crystal trophy and a World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational seat. Players include Lou Diamond Phillips, Randy Couture, Nancy Cartwright, Robert Iler, April Scott, Jesse Metcalfe, Nicolas Gonzalez, Shaun Sipos, Sara Underwood, Jessica Burciaga, Jessa Lynn Hinton, Dennis Haskins, Cheryl Hines, Joe Reitman, Tiffany Michelle, Maria Ho, Antonio “The Magician” Esfandiari, Lee Markholt, Dan “Blitz” Bilzerian and others. The red carpet and silent auction begins at 2 p.m., with tournament play starting at 3 p.m.

*On the heels of his success with a new monthly gig in L.A., Las Vegas resident Louis Prima Jr. is now in negotiations for a once-a-week show here. Although Louis was under the radar for his premiere performance, The Dragonfly Club was packed with industry people including Dom Irrera, St. Louis Rams’ owner John Shaw, producer/director Chris Bearde, Big Daddy Carlos & Ava, Mo Collins and Bret Ernst. Sarah Speigel was the guest singer. Even before the after-party at Velvet Margarita, Louis was signed to a monthly series at The Dragonfly. His next gig there is Feb. 28.

*The success of Sandy Hackett’s Rat Pack Show had led the cast to move from the Sahara’s Congo Room to the larger main showroom there starting March 2. Congratulations!

Star surveillance

It was a rush, rush overnight visit for Paris Hilton, who had Las Vegas friends baffled by her midnight arrival last night and early morning departure today. But she did assure that she’d be back for the weekend of Feb. 20 for her birthday. The trip set off rumors because her family, including mom Kathy Hilton, is here for the weekend, too. … Former adult film star Jenna Jameson was at Michael Boychuck’s Amp Salon in the Palms yesterday for a spa manicure indulgence. The blonde bombshell and new mother of twins had Minx nails with a plaid design, saying she wanted them to match the dress she is wearing to UFC 109: Relentless tomorrow at Mandalay Bay. … Actor and comedian Jon Lovitz chatted with friends in Lavo’s lounge in the Palazzo before dinner in the dining room. … Mike Score, lead singer of A Flock of Seagulls, enjoyed a drink before his band’s performance at Ghostbar in the Palms last night. Also at Ghostbar, actor Steve Hytner sipping on vodka cocktails, while up at The Playboy Club, UFC announcer Mike Goldberg hung out at a VIP table with 10 friends. … Female impersonator Larry Edwards, aka Hot Chocolate, was at Krave in Planet Hollywood telling pals that he won the Drag Directory contest that lists clubs all across America and receives two weeks of feature stories and photos, plus a spotlight section on Krave.

*Comedy-magician Mac King presents more than 50 tricks and illusions in his book Mac King’s Campfire Magic, for children ages 9 to 12, being released in March. It features dozens of easy-to-learn stunts, with a focus on feats that can be performed with rope, bandanas, pencils, string, twigs and anything else found around the campfire or knapsack.

Friday, Feb. 5

*The Daily Show host, actor and comedian Jon Stewart switches to standup instead of sit-down with a two-night late run at Terry Fator Theater in The Mirage.

*Before starting UFC 109 color commentary, Joe Rogan performs his standup at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay, while comedian Henry Cho entertains at South Point.

*2008 Playmate of the Year Jayde Nicole, who recently appeared on The Hills with boyfriend Brody Jenner, kicks off Super Bowl weekend with a party at Eva Longoria Parker’s Eve in CityCenter’s Crystals.

*The gorgeous girls of One Model Place throw their Big Game kickoff party at Blush in the Wynn.

Saturday, Feb. 6

*Huge concert of the night for country fans when they welcome George Strait and Reba McEntire, with guest Lee Ann Womack, at MGM Grand Garden Arena. All three return to the same venue in April for the Academy of Country Music Awards.

*As we reported earlier today, UFC 109: Relentless battles with Randy Couture, Frank Trigg and other Las Vegas regulars is on. Randy also is expected at the Trash Talk poker tournament, and then win or lose at UFC 108, he’ll party at Eve.

*Blue Man Group takes to the ice to perform at The Orleans Arena when the Las Vegas Wranglers face off against the Idaho Steelheads. The trio performs before and during two intermissions.

*Badfish pays tribute to Sublime in a rock fest at The House of Blues.

*World wrestling champion Mick Foley performs Total Extreme Comedy from his The New York Times bestseller at the Las Vegas Hilton to raise funds for The Kennedy Foundation’s Best Buddies charity.

Party patrol

Peepshow’s platinum pinup Holly Madison hosts the Holly Bowl pre-game party at Lavo. … Actress Naya Rivera (Glee’s Santana) celebrates her birthday at Jet in The Mirage with cast members Mark Salling, Heather Morris and Kevin McHale. … America’s Got Talent finalists Mario and Jenny perform their dancing chainsaw act “Sexy and Dangerous” with pole dancing acrobatics at Smokin’ Aces in The Venetian. … Larry Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals will make a post-midnight appearance at Drai’s After Hours in Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall as guest DJ to spin a hip-hop set. … Kim Kardashian won’t be there because she’s in Miami with her boyfriend Reggie Bush, running back for the New Orleans Saints, but she’s sent her latest fragrance to Blush in the Wynn so that every lady gets one to take home. … The official UFC 109 after-party with hosts Rachelle Leah and Rashad Evans is at Tao. … MMA fighter Mike Swick hosts his UFC 109 after-party at McFadden’s in The Rio. … UFC fighter Nate “The Great” Marquardt hosts his after-party at Hawaiian Tropic Zone in Planet Hollywood. … R&B singer J. Sunday, Feb. 7

*One of the attractions each year on the Super Bowl telecast is the new TV commercials. I was honored to be ranked No. 4 in the all-time Top 11 commercials, with this blast from the past starring Spuds McKenzie. YouTube has the entire collection of Spuds spots we made way back when:

*UFC star Wanderlei Silva hosts a Big Game Fiesta at Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina, with miles of margaritas and mountains of Mexican morsels. … Frank Mir trades fisticuffs for hosting The Big Game at Blush starting at 2 p.m. … The Flamingo’s X Burlesque is performing at halftime at the Hard Rock Hotel’s VIP event.

*UFC fighter Tito Ortiz will doubtless have girlfriend Jenna Jameson on his arm for his birthday bash at Lavo.

Monday’s teases

We’ll have the full wrap-up of the weekend Super Bowl parties and stars at play on the Strip. Plus, the first photo report and interview with 2010 Miss America Caressa Cameron as she wraps up her debut week since being crowned at Planet Hollywood with a visit to the Saints-Indianapolis Colts showdown in Miami. Then midweek, we get ready for Celine Dion’s announcement of her return to Caesars Palace and prep for the supermodel invasion of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit beauties for three days and nights of parties.
