Contributing photographer Tom Donoghue was on duty for Hippiefest at the outdoor events plaza and pool at The M Resort over the weekend and, along with shooting a photo gallery for Vegas DeLuxe, reported the rockin’ scene.

“If you missed the show, you missed a great trip back in time,” Donoghue said.

Badfinger, with Joey Molland, sang “If You Want It ... Come and Get It,” “No Matter What,” “Baby Blue,” “Day After Day” and “Can’t Live Without You”; Rare Earth sang “Get Ready (Cuz Here I Come),” “I Just Want to Celebrate” and “Hey Big Brother”; and Mitch Ryder performed “Devil With a Blue Dress,” “Good Golly Miss Molly,” “Jenny Take a Ride,” “Latin Lupe Lu” and “Midnight Hour.”

This was no illusion for the “Believe” star. No tricks, nothing hidden, no sleight of hand or wizardry to divert attention. The "Mindfreak" star, who is shooting a new series of one-hour specials for Spike TV, was in full view of the audience members, who stopped shopping at the Fashion Show mall on the Strip.
