Since our first exclusive interview yesterday with Fantasy headliner Angelica Bridges over her battle to win back her two daughters from Canada, the north of the border media outlets have gone into a frenzied overdrive of histrionic headlines. Now Angelica is waiting anxiously for the girls to be returned to her in Los Angeles.
Click HERE for our story that triggered the media explosion north of the border. The former Baywatch actress’s daughters Scarlett, 2, and Valentina, 6, are with her ex-husband, NHL star Sheldon Souray of the Edmonton Oilers, this weekend, and his lawyer reportedly emailed Angelica this past week that they would not be returned to L.A. unless Angelica showed proof that she had resigned from the Luxor show.
Now we’re also learning that still to be decided in this messy and tangled legal matter that forced Angelica to quit the Las Vegas show only three days after she’d premiered in its 10th anniversary show is the outcome of their financial separation.

The defenseman signed a $27 million contract with the team and allegedly kept that from his wife when they reconciled after a previous breakup, and then he persuaded her to split permanently a second time -- under terms of the original divorce. Now I’m learning as part of the Los Angeles Superior Court hearings that she wants damages and child support from that then-hidden big bucks deal, and that’s another reason behind the ugly threats and turn of events with her girls across the border.
The family court judge in L.A. ruled on Friday, after Angelica said she would return to the City of Angels, that his existing order giving her full custody would remain in effect. Effectively, that means Sheldon must return their children to her tomorrow.
My media instincts tell me that this is going to be a long-running story unless sensible folks and lawyers get a practical and fair deal agreed upon fast instead of skating on thin ice and playing an ugly kind of hardball!
Updated at 4:20 p.m.: Sheldon has missed five consecutive games and is listed as recovering from post-concussion symptoms. He did not skate today, either.
During his absence from the ice, he has been hosting the couple’s young daughters in Canada. Faxed letters between his lawyer and Angelica’s attorney have indicated that the girls will take their flight back to L.A. as planned on Tuesday. His legal representative had informed Angelica that if she did not quit Fantasy, the children would remain in Canada.
Sheldon has issued no statement and made no comments to media about the situation arising from their divorce made final two years ago when Angelica was given full custody of the children.
