Tom DeLay continues dancing despite being told to quit; Abdul guest stars
Dancing With the Stars.

It was a night of strange turns on Dancing With the Stars. Guest star Paula Abdul added her usual, unexpected candid comments, saying chief judge Len Goodman should have his name changed to Len Badman -- and then telling judge Carrie Ann Inaba that they should go out on a date!
Producers and doctors ordered former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay to quit the show because of a foot fracture, but he overruled their health-risk warnings and instructions and elected to continue for the party -- not clear if it’s the Republican Party or the DWTS party!
There was another shock when right at the end of the show, Kelly Osbourne confessed that after last week, she had wanted to quit, but her partner Louis Van Amstel persuaded her to stay!
What was the sexual banter between Donny Osmond and judge Bruno Tonioli that led Donny to say he’d never be allowed back into Utah after tonight? When we see the West Coast broadcast, it might look as if Donny and Bruno wind up in each other’s laps! Even sister Marie Osmond was too shocked to complete her Twitter report!
Dmitry Chaplin and Mya on Dancing With the Stars.
SPOILER ALERT: Please do not read any further if you want to get the full surprise and drama of watching the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast of ABC’s top-rated Dancing With the Stars. But come back after the show to compare notes with us!
Singer-songwriter Mya received the first 10s of this Season 9. She danced the rumba with partner Dmitry Chaplin and won a standing ovation. Ranked No. 1 last week, Mya picked up a score of 27, with two of the 10s coming from Bruno and Carrie Ann -- and Len lived up to Paula’s new nickname, awarding only 7 points! Right behind them were Natalie Coughlin and Alec Mazo with 26 points for their rumba.
Looks like all the weekend red-eye flights and cramped hotel room rehearsal space affected Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff. Last week’s second-highest scorer stumbled, and judges said there was no fluidity. They received only 21 points, which is a bad indicator of where they’ll wind up despite the fact that the singer predicted that he’d win the disco ball trophy this season.
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson on Dancing With the Stars.
Despite the hullabaloo over Donny and Bruno, he and his partner Kym Johnson were awarded 21 -- with each judge giving them 7 apiece. It’s good that regular Las Vegas visitor Kelly Osbourne decided to stay because she and Louis scored 20 with their samba, and for the first time this season, Kelly looked confident.
Our other Las Vegas favorite Chuck Liddell and Anna Trebunskaya landed 17 points for their samba, which kept them away from the bottom rung. The judges loved Chuck’s entertaining performance but were harsh on his dancing techniques.
The lowest score of the night went to Michael Irvin and Anna Demidova for their samba, with only 14 points, and the retired NFL player received some harsh criticism from the judges. Miraculously, injury and all, Tom scratched out 15 points with partner Cheryl Burke in competing Republican and Democratic costumes for their samba. Bruno even complimented Tom for being a super trooper with the flawed foot.

Debi Mazur and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the samba and earned 17 points, tying with Chuck and Anna. Mark Dacascos and Lacey Schwimmer danced the rumba and scored 18 points, Melissa Joan Hart and Mark Ballas performed the samba and scored 19, Louie Vito and Chelsie Hightower executed the rumba and scored 20, and Joanna Krupa and Derek Hough danced the samba and scored 23.
We’ll have the full dance floor action photo gallery here at Vegas DeLuxe tomorrow and then another spoiler alert story tomorrow night as we learn who is sent home packing their dance shoes.
