Hollywood celebrities galore shuttled between Tao and Lavo’s nightclubs and restaurants in The Venetian and Palazzo all weekend long. Halloween began a day earlier at Tao with a “Halloweighties” party hosted by singer Deborah Gibson, who arrived dressed as a sexy devil (or sinner). Her boyfriend Dr. Rutledge Taylor, who dressed as a saint, accompanied her.

Revelers showed up in 1980s outfits, and Deborah treated them to two of her hits, “Shake Your Love” and “Out of the Blue,” when she was still Debbie Gibson. Among the crowd and scoping out the location of their weekend Halloween bash were Twilight stars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, who headed directly to Tao after arriving in Las Vegas.

Incidentally, when Deborah dined at Lavo with her doctor boyfriend, they enjoyed lobster cocktail, organic mixed green salad and water. They asked not to have anything with oil or sugar, which explains her amazing body!

Briana’s belated birthday

At Lavo, Sorority Row star Briana Evigan, who turned 23 the previous weekend, scoped out her birthday party scene also over Halloween. She brought her family over to Tao for Deborah’s soiree. Briana sported spandex, and had her father Greg Evigan, who starred in the 1980s sitcom My Two Dads, her mother and brother in two in a skybox, where they danced the night away.

Briana officially celebrated her birthday at Lavo at the center of a long table in the middle of the Italian restaurant’s dining room. She had already ordered Oreo Zeppole for the entire table but was surprised by the restaurant singing “Happy Birthday” as a large cake was served to her. After blowing out the candles and making a wish, she insisted that every person eat an Oreo.

The group hit the upstairs boutique nightclub, taking over a VIP table on the dance floor in front of the DJ booth, where Briana, in a skintight black and white mini dress, danced on a couch surrounded by friends. Also spotted in Lavo was Entourage favorite Rex Lee, who celebrated a friend’s birthday and took photos with fans all night long.

True Blood stars Sam Trammell and Rutina Wesley and Twilight stars Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene arrive at Tao in The Venetian on Oct. 31, 2009.

Twilight & True Blood

It was a busy weekend for Twilight stars Kellan and Ashley. The onscreen siblings -- Emmett and Alice Cullen -- began at Tao Beach for its last sun session of the season; enjoyed Kobe meatballs at Lavo; and danced upstairs at the nightclub, where good friend Brittany Snow joined them. At Tao, True Blood star Rutina Wesley began Halloween dining with family and friends. The Las Vegas native wore a floral print dress and glasses, looking quite the opposite of her character on the HBO series. She took a VIP skybox in the nightclub for the 3rd Annual Taolloween party and costume contest. This year’s winner voted by the crowd was a monster, a 10-foot-tall character from Spike Jonze’s new film Where the Wild Things Are. It took three months to make, and the winner flew in from San Diego specifically for the contest.

The stars switched hotspots for the Veuve Clicquot Yelloween parties. In the afternoon, Rutina and Briana soaked up the rays at Tao Beach, while Ashley watched the Florida Gators game in a video game luxury box at Lagasse’s Stadium in the Palazzo while munching on star chef Emeril Lagasse’s New Orleans bites menu.

By nighttime, it was time to get into crazy costumes and the Halloween spirit. Ashley transformed into a peacock, and Kellan was superhero Batman (from Batman Beyond), with Robin nowhere to be seen! Rutina donned a pirate costume, and co-star Sam Trammell waved his wand as a Nordic wizard. Both actresses looked stunning thanks to MAC senior makeup artist Jennifer Karsten. They kicked off Yelloween with a joint red carpet, and then Ashley and Kellan headed off to Tao, where a group of friends, including Brittany dressed as Carmen San Diego, were waiting, while Rutina and Sam made their way to Lavo to join their friends.

Briana, nearly unrecognizable in a blond wig and gold lame (any guesses on her costume?!), continued her birthday weekend celebration under the stars with a cabana at the Tao Beach party.

Their partying continued until 3 a.m., when they hopped on the Tao/Lavo Escalade and checked out each other’s party pads!

Holly Madison hosts the Halloween party at Studio 54 in MGM Grand on Oct. 31, 2009.

Holly Madison @Studio 54

Peepshow beauty Holly Madison hosted “HollyWeen” at Studio 54 in MGM Grand in a gorgeous Queen of Hearts costume by Trashy Lingerie for her Halloween festivities. Her Peepshow cast mates joined her in the VIP area overlooking the packed dance floor. At 2 a.m., she made a grand entrance to host the costume contest, being lowered two stories on an aerialist’s swing.

While reviewing the costumes, Holly found a personal favorite: a clubgoer dressed as a pregnant Kendra Wilkinson, her friend and The Girls Next Door co-star. The costume included a Playboy-themed wardrobe with a T-shirt reading “Sorry, Hank, it’s Hef’s …” over a fake baby bump!

The winner for most original costume went to Christina Brewer’s Spirit of Michael Jackson, with the King of Pop’s signature hairstyle and glitzy clothing, which completely hid the her body to give the impression of a ghostly figure. Christina, of Mesa, Ariz., said it took almost three months to create. The sexiest costume went to a Playboy Playmate impersonator, Charity Hodges of Los Angeles. The contestants were awarded $5,000 each.

For Farrah’s birthday, Nicky gave a shout-out from the DJ booth when the Las Vegas Pussycat Dolls brought out a Halloween-themed cake and sang “Happy Birthday” to her. Nicky spent much of the night dancing with her aunt Kyle Richards (dressed as Wonder Woman), Farrah (dressed as a flapper) and her mom (dressed as a police officer), while her dad (in a robe and slippers) held court with a cigar.

Nicky joined DJ Hollywood (dressed as Captain America) to help judge the Halloween costume contest, where the crowd favorite was Bumble Bee from Transformers, who won the $10,000 top prize.

Slipknot and frontman Corey Taylor perform their final concert of 2009 at The Pearl in the Palms on Oct. 31, 2009.

Halloween at the Palms

Hotel tycoon George Maloof turned his entire Palms casino resort into an open-venue, all-access Halloween happening. He hosted the Fangoria Trinity of Terrors weekend, with Rob Zombie kicking off the festivities with a concert in The Pearl. Over at the ballroom, there was a horror convention before Slipknot, with frontman Corey Taylor, performed its final 2009 concert, also in The Pearl.

Filmmaker, actor and visual artist John Waters dined at N9NE Steakhouse, while next door at Rain, guests were treated to an exclusive debut collaboration of the single “Firefly” performed by Palms headliner Matt Goss and remixed by premier Rain resident DJ Paul Oakenfold. Upstairs at Moon, Slipknot arrived in costume and sat at a VIP table sipping on Ketel One drinks.

The celebrity list at the Palms was akin to a Hollywood Halloween black book: John Waters, Bruce Campbell, Roger Corman, Corbin Bernsen, George Romero, Malcolm McDowell and William Forsythe.

The Fetish & Fantasy Ball at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel on Oct. 31, 2009.

Fetish & Fantasy Ball

The annual Fetish & Fantasy Ball moved to The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel for the first time after years of the organizers trying to land the venue. It proved to be the best party of its long-running history, with hundreds of people in costume -- or what little there was of them.

Our contributing photographer Tom Donoghue reported: “It was the best party I’ve ever photographed in Las Vegas. It was wall-to-wall with costumes galore. Everyone just cut loose determined to have the best fun possible on a fancy free night.”

AnnaLynne McCord at Tabu

90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord brought her two sisters Angel and Rachel with her for a joint Halloween celebration -- and to host Rachel’s 21st birthday bash at Tabu Ultra Lounge in MGM Grand. They began with some sunbathing at Wet Republic and shared a birthday dinner at Fiamma Trattoria.

Then it was time for all three to get dressed up in some of this year’s hottest costumes: AnnaLynne as a seductive Catwoman, Rachel in a flirty burlesque ensemble and Angel showing off her assets in a sexy inmate ensemble.
