Headlines around the world have chronicled the romance between actress Lindsay Lohan and her DJ girlfriend Samantha Ronson. Despite numerous reconciliations between the turbulent twosome, there have been just as many explosive bust-ups from coast to coast.

At last word, the split is definite and final, although they will try to remain friends. Samantha did not show up with Lindsay at the weekend party at MGM’s Wet Republic, where Lindsay had an advance 23rd birthday celebration -- Lindsay’s actual birthday is this Thursday.

LiLo, who is said to be teaming with new friend Ryan Seacrest on her own reality TV show, had five outfit changes for her Saturday afternoon pool party. She changed from white denim cut-off shorts into a bandage-styled red bikini, moved onto a cutout black one piece, then blue denim shorts and a black fedora to dance to several Michael Jackson hits played as a tribute by DJ Steve Aoki.

When a giant red, white and blue birthday cake was delivered to her very private VIP cabana, she changed into black sequined 1950s-style shorts and a revealing bikini top with gold spangles. Total? Five outfits in less than three hours -- now that’s a fashion plate!

Lindsay also used the party to promote her new Sevin Nyne Tanning Mist. On the blue carpet, she arrived with a scowl and looked distinctively uncomfortable but relaxed as the afternoon progressed and eventually began smiling and laughing after texting and then posting a Twitter photo of her “Billie Jean” impression -- click HERE for the photo.

Spywitnesses couldn’t figure out if it was because Lindsay was texting with Samantha who was in Atlanta or because she’d enjoyed a seductive dance with reality star Brittny Gastineau, who was in her entourage.

Lindsay revealed that she’s formed her own movie and TV production company, Unforgettable Entertainment. “When there’s nothing to do in between movies, it gives me something to keep busy,” she said. “We’ve already created six shows and are working on the treatments. It shows I can multitask!” Commenting on her new tanning mist, she added: “It smells good. I use it. It doesn’t streak, and it’s all-natural with no animal testing. I’m big about that.”

For most of the afternoon, Lindsay stayed behind the drawn curtains of her cabana except to pop out for poolside photos and a visit to DJ Aoki, who Lindsay had met through Samantha. Lindsay also turned up at N9NE Steakhouse in George Maloof’s Palms. She wore a pink summer dress with black sandals, and her escort for dinner was DCMA clothing line millionaire Tal Cooperman. Lindsay enjoyed a cocktail and the halibut with a spring salad. Both ordered the campfire s’mores for dessert.

Lindsay flew back to Los Angeles yesterday, but no word as to whether she let herself into Samantha’s home this time!
