It was a weekend of birthday celebrations with parties up and down the Strip. I don’t remember so many all happening simultaneously, but Vegas DeLuxe and our contributing photographers managed to capture all the gift giving and cake-candle wishes.
Terry Fator
Forty people celebrated singing ventriloquist and impersonator Terry Fator's birthday at Stack in The Mirage, some he hadn't seen in 20 years from his high school days in Texas! Terry continues to enjoy sell-out crowds nightly, and comedian Brad Garrett brought his kids to see Terry's performance before his own late-night standup routine with Ray Romano. Terry was presented with a cake in the shape of a Wii bowling game. “All the backstage crew know that I play the bowling game every night for 30 minutes before I go onstage just to relax,” Terry told me as he served slices to the table.
Terry’s family, friends, writers and musicians inundated him with gifts. He received old-time framed movie posters, bendable Muppet dolls and a box of 12 Spider-Man car antenna balls. “I’m such a Spider-Man buff that I try to keep one on my car radio, but every time I go to the mall or park in a garage, it vanishes, so now I have 12 of them to at least keep me going through the year,” he laughed. He also received autographed movie scripts including Casino signed by Robert De Niro and a Harry Potter script signed by author J.K. Rowling and the cast, including Daniel Radcliffe and Robbie Coltrane. “I’m such a collectibles nut,” Terry said. “They are all my favorites from when I couldn’t afford to collect them.”

His management team presented him with three giant, framed Star Wars posters also autographed by the cast. Terry told me: “I’d seen these in a store at The Mirage and was going to treat myself to them for my birthday. But when I went to buy them earlier this week, they had a ‘sold’ sticker on them with ‘ship to Florida.’ I thought I’d waited too long and lost out. I didn’t guess my manager had tricked me and had bought them for my birthday. I couldn’t be happier.”

Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz celebrated his 30th birthday at the Bank in the Bellagio on Saturday night, but it didn’t appear to be an all-out Happy Birthday celebration. It fact, it was decidedly a low-key event, and all smiles were absent! “The tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife,” one reliable spywitness said. “Something was adrift with Pete and his wife, Ashlee Simpson.”

The couple first had dinner at Yellowtail accompanied by two friends and a publicist. They were at the Bank for less than 90 minutes, and the clearly moody Fall Out Boy rocker wound up in a row with a photographer who he wouldn’t let take photos. Pete nearly chased him out of the club -- and then wanted to leave himself!
Allegedly, according to an inside source, Ashlee and Pete had a serious flare-up and argument earlier in the week in the presence of actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who Pete dated before Ashlee. “Pete literally had to stop Ashlee going after Michelle about who was sleeping with whom and when,” I was told. The argument apparently continued into the weekend visit to Las Vegas for his birthday.

Audrina Patridge
All eyes were on The Hills star Audrina Patridge when she dazzled in a sexy two-piece black and gold bikini, even though it was her brother Mark’s birthday. Audrina had planned the party as part of a weekend-long Las Vegas visit, and even her ex-boyfriend Corey Bohan was on hand for the fun. There were 20-plus guests in the group, including their father Mark Patridge Sr.

It all began at Tao Beach at The Venetian. Audrina took over a cabana and soaked up the sun while the boys took in the scene. In the evening, she wore a beige strapless pantsuit for the red carpet. Also on the carpet was pro poker player Beth Shak. Chef Mark Andelbradt created a special dinner of sushi and signature items to go with the specialty cocktails and several rounds of Patron shots at Tao.
When Audrina’s surprise birthday cake was delivered to the table for Mark, the restaurant burst into a “Happy Birthday” sing-along. The party continued in their private skybox at Tao nightclub well into the pre-dawn hours.
Mark Ballas and Derek Hough
It was two nights of birthday celebrations for Dancing With the Stars professionals Mark Ballas and Derek Hough, who have now teamed up as their own rock band! Mark, who recently won DWTS Season 8 with Shawn Johnson, arrived with girlfriend Joanna Pacitti and his mother Shirley for the first-night bash at the Bank to celebrate recently turning 23.

The next night, it was time to celebrate Derek’s belated May birthday, as well, for his 24th at Lavo in the Palazzo. The model servers brought in two birthday cakes after the Italian menu feast. Joanna and Shirley became close friends over the weekend festivities and managed to keep up partying with Mark and his guy friends!
