Producers of the topless revue Crazy Girls at the Riviera reacted angrily this morning to reports published elsewhere that their striptease show is closing. “It’s simply not true,” I was told. “If somebody had bothered to check with us, we would have told them immediately that we are not closing, and then they wouldn't have published a false story.”
Crazy Girls is the original and first topless revue on the Strip and this year celebrated its 22nd anniversary. Karen Rader, Crazy Girls managing partner, added: “It’s true that the tough economy has hurt all showroom ticket sales on the Vegas Strip. Not one show is immune from major audience drops. Even the big-name musicals and Cirque du Soleil shows are offering slashed ticket offerings.
The Crazy Girls show off their assets.
“It’s obvious with less and less tourists coming to the Strip and even with … bargain-basement room rates, they are not spending money on shows, shopping or fine dining. It will be a difficult summer for everybody, but we are open and staying open and weathering the storm. In celebrating 22 years as the original topless revue on the Strip, we are still there every night with innovative, cutting-edge, new, updated routines performed by the sexiest dancers with the most beautiful bodies."
In May, the Crazy Girls starred with Nikki Ziering and Clive Robertson in the secret agent thriller Undercover Crazy Girls. Producer Norbert Aleman also just launched the first of a chain of Crazy Girls Bars in New Orleans, with the second to open in Reno.
