Strip Scribbles: Tommy Lee dreams of roller coaster for his drum set

Can Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee be serious? Tommy wants to have an indoor roller coaster built so that his drum set complete with two seats could roll around on it during the group’s shows. He’d love nothing more than to debut it upon the group’s arrival here next month for their Crue Fest concert at The Rogue Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. In a fascinating article in the new edition of Rhythm, Tommy is featured at the top of the 30 wildest drummers of all time.

“My dream and goal, and I will do it, is to build a roller coaster that can pack up and travel from city to city,” Tommy told Rhythm. “It will have all the workings of a roller coaster, but I’ll get rid of the car and replace it with a drum riser with two seats on the back. I’ll run into the audience, grab a couple of fans, strap them in and go! I see it all in my head. You have a huge sound system, which opens up at one side of the stage, the riser comes out and does a huge drop, goes upside down in a loop, then goes up around the people in the back seats, does another loop in the middle of the arena, then travels up again until it stops. Then we do the whole thing backwards! Drum solo-wise, it will look and sound exactly like what’s happening on the roller coaster, so I speed up and slow down my solo as the riser does, plus I want lights that follow the car along the track. It will be f*cking wicked!”

If you think this is too far-fetched or Tommy is yanking our chain like he’s done many times before, just remember what he did with the rotating drum riser he used during the Girls Girls Girls Tour three years ago!

*Curb Your Enthusiasm actress Cheryl Hines treated herself to a mini- Las Vegas vacation and relaxed on a daybed enjoying Absolut Signature cocktails at the new Azure Pool in the Palazzo. When the sun got too hot to handle, she went to the poker room in The Venetian and signed herself up for the Deep Stack Tournament. Cheryl, who also stars in The Motherhood, also attended Phantom -- Las Vegas Spectacular. She told friends she’s a huge fan of the musical and has seen it several times in London, on Broadway, on tour but never in Las Vegas. She went backstage after the show to congratulate the cast. Cheryl went with The Lion King stars Anthony and Patrick Kerr, who she had worked with on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Star surveillance

Here’s a unique trio enjoying the scene at Lavo in the Palazzo: MMA fighter Chuck Liddell, UFC President Dana White and Los Angeles Lakers star Jordan Farmer. Dana and Chuck have been feuding in recent days as to when Chuck will fight again or should retire. Jordan outdazzled them both with his necklace and watch, bringing new meaning to the word bling. Chuck enjoyed his favorite Patron shots, while Dana stuck to vodka cranberry cocktails. Jordan drank Raspberry Stoli vodka with 7-Up. Who else would tell you this? … Politically Incorrect star Bill Maher took over the patio at Blush in the Wynn with friends celebrating with Veuve Clicquot champagne. Bill even put on his dancing shoes for the dance floor. … Actor Lou Diamond Phillips dined at Nove Italiano inside the Palms with his wife, daughter and mother-in-law. They took a table on the terrace for the extraordinary Strip views and ordered gazpacho, Nove spaghetti and pork chops, finishing with strawberry carpaccio and the sorbetto trio.
