Morning Call: Jersey Boys stars rehearse National Anthem at NASCAR

To prepare for tomorrow’s big NASCAR race, the four lead stars of Jersey Boys and their backups had a rehearsal run-through and sound check for the National Anthem, which they will perform just before the starter flag is raised.
Cast members Erich Bergen, Charl Brown, Travis Cloer, Jeff Leibow, Rick Faugno, Jason Martinez, Deven May and Kristofer McNeeley all left their theater at the Palazzo to travel out to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the rehearsal. It’s been home for the past nine months since the sensational show first came to Vegas.
Impressionist Gordie Brown from the Golden Nugget downtown also will provide entertainment during the pre-show, which will include my colorful introduction of all the drivers in the stage presentation with our merry Mayor of Mirth Oscar Goodman and his sizzling showgirls!

I’ll introduce the Jersey Boys in my duty as emcee of the pre-show, and since everything always goes as planned with split-second precision timing, the moment they finish their performance, members of the U.S. Thunderbirds from Nellis Air Force Base will fly over the track in full formation at what will look just inches apart!
If you’re in town but unable to get out to the track, you can watch all the festivities on our local Fox 5 station. After the National Anthem, I’ll introduce the track officials, ready the green flag and the call for “Gentlemen, start your engines” as Fox coverage begins at 1:30 p.m.
Then we then have less than 120 seconds to scramble and clear the track before the 400-mile race roars off!
