Ever since superstar singer and actress Beyonce performed a string of concerts this past July and August at Encore Theater in the Wynn, rumors have swirled that she would become a new resident entertainer there. Well, it’s getting closer and closer!

We were the first in early November to report that negotiations between Beyonce’s dad and manager Matthew Knowles and hotel tycoon Steve Wynn were well underway. Then at Thanksgiving, that was followed by reports saying the deal had been done, with Las Vegas gossip guru Norm Clarke spelling out details of a signed contract.

Despite the resort’s denials, we can now confirm that the official announcement will come right after the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, which means right after new resident headliner Garth Brooks completes his next four shows over the Jan. 1 start-the-year-right weekend.

Beyonce herself is looking at dates for Las Vegas after her 90-city world tour ends in South America on Feb. 20. Voted as “Best Concert Tour of the Year” as of Oct. 1, Jay-Z’s glamorous wife had grossed $53 million at box offices across the world.

When she returns to the Wynn, her all-female band Sugar Mammas will back her up. The DVD of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce concerts shot at the Wynn July 30-Aug. 2 has been a hit since its release.
