The dynamic duo of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon have popped in and out of Las Vegas during their first year of marriage. Now they are celebrating the actual anniversary, although no word that she will be on her hubby’s arm when he spins a guest DJ set tonight at Moon in the Palms Fantasy Tower. The event invitation is to “Come Celebrate Nick and Mariah’s 1st year of marriage.” I don’t know anybody who actually celebrates 12 months of marriage by working in a nightclub for a paycheck, but partying in one -- absolutely yes! So let’s hope the newlyweds show up together for the party portion of the night.

The motorcycle Mike Metzger used to jump the fountains at Caesars Palace.

*Mike Metzger, “The Godfather of Freestyle Motocross,” will meet with fans and sign autographs at Pole Position Raceway today for three hours starting at 5 p.m. A few of the luckiest also will be invited to race him on the indoor speedway track. I’m in awe of this man after meeting him and then watching him perform the impossible in May 2006 when he did a world record back flip over the Caesars Palace fountains. The bike and the outfit he wore for that will be on display tonight. And ask him to open his mouth to show you his nickname and slogan “Pain” tattooed inside his mouth! Now that’s guts and glory!

Gerry McCambridge.

*Congratulations to The Mentalist Gerry McCambridge, who reached out directly to tell me that his last show of a two-year run at the Hooters casino will be May 14. He will start new shows immediately in the 300-seat V Theater at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile as of May 15. He doesn’t even get a day off to rest from the move!

Howie Mandel (he's the one not wearing a suit).

*It’s rare we get three headline comics opening in comedy shows before the weekend even arrives, but that’s the case tonight with Howie Mandel, David Spade and Police Academy star Michael Winslow. Self-confessed germophobe and Attention Deficit Disorder patient Howie is known as the Deal or No Deal game show king with his 13 beautiful attaché-case-holding money molls (dollar darlings). He opens tonight at MGM Grand’s Hollywood Theater for a run through next Wednesday. Over at Wayne Brady’s theater in The Venetian, David starts his run through May 9. Michael was the comedian who kept folks laughing in the Police Academy movies with his extraordinary talent of making all those wacky sounds. He starts a three-day run tonight at the Bonkerz Comedy Club in the Palace Station, and local police officers get two free tickets to see the 1,000 sound-effects comic. Michael, who also is donating a portion of the proceeds to the Injured Police Officer Fund, can vocally produce everything from the roar of a jet plane to a Jimi Hendrix frenzied guitar riff!

Star surveillance

High winds put a halt to Peepshow headliner Kelly Monaco from stripping down to a sexy bikini at the Palms pool and bungalows. She was spotted under her dark designer shades. She lounged in black denim shorts and a white top for cocktails, but plans for sunbathing had to be postponed. …. Her co-star Mel B was up at the Palms Place condo spa pool the next day for sun and swim time. … Sacramento Kings player Spencer Hawes celebrated his 21st birthday in the main dining room at N9NE Steakhouse with an entourage of 15, including team owner Gavin Maloof. … Also celebrating a birthday at N9NE Steakhouse was rapper Too Short with four friends before going upstairs to Moon for birthday cake. … Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who was there with friends, gave Too Short his own birthday wishes. … Former Cosby kid Malcolm Jamal Warner partied at Blush in the Wynn, celebrating a friend’s birthday.

Crazy Horse Paris' Karma.

*Is there room for yet another naughty girlie show in Las Vegas? We have the 400-pound gorilla known as Peepshow, which cost $12 million to stage. Then there’s Fantasy Girls at the Luxor, Crazy Girls at the Riviera, Crazy Horse Paris at MGM, X Burlesque at the Flamingo -- and with a little stretch of a sequined stocking, you could include the topless beauties at Jubilee! and the Sin City Kitties border patrol posse in Primm. Now tonight, songstress Lorena Peril is joined by eight topless temptresses for the “Rock On Tops Off” premiere of Sin City Bad Girls at the Hilton. Glenn Medas, who created and directed the show, says his cast has an electrifying live band that makes it different from all the others! Methinks, though, somehow it’s just the girls and their charms that bring in the punters?

Joey Chestnut, hot dog eating champion.

*Jot the date down in your calendar: Exactly one week from today, the 12th Annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Championships get underway on the Brooklyn Bridge of New York-New York. It’s a qualifying round to represent the United States before the July 4 international contest held at New York’s Coney Island for the 93rd consecutive year! Fourteen cities from San Francisco to Boston have qualifiers, and we’re betting that two-time defending champion Joey Chestnut from San Jose, Calif., will be here again for a third title. In 2008, he devoured 59 Nathan’s Famous hot dogs and buns in the 12-minute contest -- but still needed an additional 50 seconds to break the tie with nemesis and former champ Takeru Kobayashi. The world record stands at 66 hot dogs and buns devoured by Joey in 2007! If you’re over 18 and think you can compete with the big boys, pre-register at www.nathansfamous.com.

Tonight’s tips

In addition to the comedy shows we’ve highlighted above, there’s a five-pack of rockers playing at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay. Before Kreator takes the stage, there will be performances by Epicurean, Warbringer, Exodus and Helfmegor.

Tomorrow’s teases

It’s another knockout punch of a weekend in Sin City with the Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao fight at MGM Grand, and Hugh Hefner unveils the new Playmate of the Year for the first time ever in Las Vegas at the Palms. Two more pool clubs and another tattoo parlor open with star-studded guests, plus we’ll celebrate the first anniversary of Jersey Boys at the Palazzo.
