For Sir Elton and Barry Manilow, a time to celebrate

It is an impressive and magical milestone for Caesars Palace headliner Sir Elton John as he marks the 200th performance of his Red Piano show Saturday night. Hard to believe that its debut was back in February 2004 -– and this weekend’s show wraps his current run before singer Bette Midler returns to the Colosseum on Tuesday.
The official closing night CineVegas party will be at the new Palazzo casino resort pool starting at 9 p.m. and coincides with VEGAS magazine’s fifth-anniversary bash. Australian singing sensation Delta Goodman who is this month’s June cover model for our sister publication will host the glittering event. In addition to both the elite of Hollywood and Las Vegas the four-acres of gardens, fountains, spas and pools will welcome many of the magazine’s former cover models who have included previously Heidi Klum, Eva Longoria, Pamela Anderson, Paris Hilton, Rebecca Romijn, Gisele Bundchen and the always beautiful Vegas darling Molly Sims.

PAMELA ANDERSON SELLS HER DODGE VIPER AT PLANET HOLLYWOOD:
Blond bombshell Pamela Anderson will sell her 2000 Dodge Viper RT/10 Roadster on Saturday as part of a celebrity auction at Planet Hollywood. She'll oversee the bidding because she's agreed to donate a portion of the proceeds to PETA - People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The sale, being handled by Julien's Auctions, will be seen worldwide on a live internet broadcast on The Auction Network. The car is equipped with a 450-hp, V-10 engine with six-speed manual transmission and multipoint fuel injection system.
"It’s in great condition" said Pamela. “Its always been a fun ride the few times I've taken it out." Auction organizers are hoping that because of its celebrity value the car will sell for tens of thousands of dollars to benefit the charity.
A rare set of behind-the-scenes footage of Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable from The Misfits will also be sold. The auction house has 47 minutes of 'personal moments' footage containing intimate shots of the two actors preparing for their scenes and practicing their lines. Monroe and Gable were romantically linked during the filming of this movie. Actress Margaret O'Brien will also attend the auction as the blue-and-white checked dress she wore in Meet Me In St.Louis, with Judy Garland, will also be sold- along with Elvis Presley's black suit from Viva Las Vegas.
DESPERATE HOUSEWIFE JOINS HALL OF FAMER TRADING FOOTBALL FIELD FOR 10-PIN BOWLING:
Over 35 top football and basketball stars -- including love-mates Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs and his beloved Desperate Housewives actress star Eva Longoria will raise funds for NFL Hall of Famer Warren Moon’s eighth-annual Sports Dream Bowl at Red Rock Lanes. The money raised benefits the urban Youth Scholarship Fund, which awards college scholarship dollars to more than 400 underprivileged and deserving inner-city youth to pursue their college dream.
Other sports stars attending include Tony’s Spurs team-mate Robert Horry plus from the 2008 SuperBowl champion New York Giants Brandon Jacobs and Amani Toomer, Carson and Jordan Palmer of the Cincinnati Bengals, Chad Hebnbe of the Miami Dolphins, Brian Brohm of the Green Bay Packers, Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans, Junior Seau of the New England Patriots, Baron Davis of the Golden State Warriors and Reggie Wayne of the 2007 champion Indianapolis Colts. Their red carpet starts at 3 p.m. Saturday and the games begin at 4 p.m.

DEATHLY DANGEROOUS KILLER KOMODO DRAGON MAKES DEBUT:
Today’s the day that the world’s most evil and fearsome killer animal makes its debut at the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay to mark its eighth anniversary. “We are excited to welcome such a rare and endangered predator,” said Shark Reef Executive Director Brian Robinson. “Guests will have the thrilling experience of being within arms length to observe the powerful nature of this fascinating creature.”
With its fearsome reputation, some 60 dagger-like serrated teeth, piercing razor-sharp claws and deadly saliva, this is one monster to stay well clear of. Just one bite of its saliva, which contains 50 kinds of bacteria, can kill any prey by spreading instant infection and prevent blood clotting. Despite brutal battles between themselves Komodo dragons can’t threaten the lives of each other -– even with deep claw marks because of its anti-coagulation benefits.

The Komodo can reach up to 10 feet in length and weight up to 200 pounds. Its world population is less than 5,000 and most of the largest and heaviest lizard species live in the southeast islands of Indonesia – and were in the headlines just two weeks ago when a group of stranded scuba drivers came face to face with them after their dive boat sank, before they were rescued.

-- Leave just before the final curtain of the Cirque du Soleil Beatles Love show at the Mirage- and if you take the wrong elevator you may find yourself swept up in the cast rushing onto stage with them! It happened to one VIP Vegas couple who found themselves in the wrong elevator -– with the surprised cast members wondering how on earth they got in there! There was no time with the automated floor-jumps for them to get off when the cast ran in- and so they went along for the ride. “In the last minute split second timing for the race-on finale we could have easily wound up getting the curtain call” the surprised wife told me.
